Flags for Heroes

Meridian Trust North Star Foundation is hosting our annual Flags for Heroes fundraiser this September! Flags for Heroes is a celebration of the people who have shaped us and inspired us. Meridian Trust's branches in Cheyenne along with Alliance and Scottsbluff in Nebraska, and Wellington in Colorado, will fly flags in an eloquent display as we pay tribute to heroes near and far. The flags will be raised on Wednesday, September 20th and will remain up through Wednesday, September 27th. Each flag displayed will have an honoree tag attached that will include their name and, if you choose to share, a little about their story. For this event, we focus on the proceeds going to help fight food insecurity in our communities. Last year we raised over $25,000. 12,000 was donated to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative’s Angel Accounts, a local non-profit dedicated to working with school districts to assist schools and students in need with their lunch school debt. In addition, $2,000 was donated to the Wellington Food Bank, $2,000 to the Alliance Public Schools towards student lunch debt, and $2,000 to Scottsbluff’s weekend backpack food program.
