The CFD Old West Museum will debut a brand-new show by a talented and exceptional eye in the American West, Mr. Lee Silliman. Homestead Fever: Celebrating the Early Settlers of the High Plains, will exhibit 50 photographs allowing our guests the opportunity to explore a unique aspect of those "Old West roots" celebrated in Cheyenne every year during CFD. Showcasing "the remnants of the settlers who advanced upon the northern high plains, as they struggled to establish honesteads in the late 19th and early 20th centuries...In the face of formidable odds against them, such as drought, wind, cold, remoteness, and primitive tools, these determined people established homes, planted fields and gardens, and raised livestock." Highlighting architecture and other remnant culture of the homestead era, this new show helps to expand the cultural offering of the Museum to continue the mission of celebrating the West. This exhibit is free with Museum admission.
