In celebration of fire prevention week, visit our fire station headquarters at 5800 North College Drive, Cheyenne, WY. This is a great event for the kids with a kidz activity corner, face painting, free bouncy house, fire truck pinatas, smoke crawl demonstration, and fire truck familiarization. Learn how to operate fire extinguishers using the "PASS" demo.
Firefighters will demonstrate how to use a fire extinguisher; give station tours and answer questions about the apparatus. Using cold smoke, firefighters will also do a smoke crawl and teach kids how to stay low and crawl out of a smoky room, identify two ways out and discuss the importance of sleeping with your bedroom door closed. Volunteers will be selling reflective street signs for $10 and pink breast cancer awareness shirts for $20 each.
There will be displays and information booths from such agencies as the Wyoming State Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety, American Medical Response (AMR), Laramie County CERT Team, Laramie County Sheriff's Office, F.E. Warren AFB, WY Air National Guard, Safe Kids Wyoming, American Red Cross of Wyoming, Community Action, Jeff Teasley Jr Farmers Insurance, KD Perino Coldwell Banker Realtor, Servpro, Valley Restoration, BelleAmira, and Peak Wellness. Denver Airlife will be landing noon and showing off their helicopter.
Come eat some great food at our food truck rally and listen to live music from Nashville’s Sara Simmons and the Cornpickers.
