Join us as we hear from TSgt Ronald Mills with the 153rd Security Forces and from TSgt Kelsey Raile with the 153d Airlift Wing’s Fire and Emergency Services Flight. Both recently returned home from a deployment.
TSgt Mills will be speaking about effective and intent based leadership and the growth it allows.
TSgt Raile will be speaking about firefighting as well as being separated from family during deployment.
TSgt Mills entered the U.S. Army in August of 2000 where he was assigned to B Co. 70th Sapper Battalion at Ft. Riley, Ks. While in the Army he was deployed to Iraq twice for 1 year each time. The first being April 2003/April 2004, as a squad member attached to 1/325 PIR 82nd Airborne Div., where Task Force Red Falcon was assigned to secure Northern Baghdad. The second was from January 2005/January 2006 as a Team Leader again with B. Co 70th Sapper Battalion attached to 3rd Infantry Div. to secure Taji, Sadr’ City, and the surrounding area. Sargent Mills then separated from the Army in August of 2006. He joined the Air National Guard in October of 2006 where he has served as a Security Forces Team Leader with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2013. While deployed to Iraq Sargent Mills was awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Army Commendation Medals for actions in combat.
TSgt Kelsey K. Raile is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Training for the 153d Airlift Wing, Civil Engineering Squadron, Fire and Emergency Services Flight Wyoming Air National Guard Base, Cheyenne, WY. Technical Sergeant Raile is responsible for ensuring thirty firefighters are properly trained and ready to deploy in support of state and federal missions. Her expertise is in providing fire protection guidance, serving as a senior fire officer, and training others on specialized fire protection equipment and procedures.
Technical Sergeant Raile enlisted in the Wyoming Air National Guard as an Airman First Class in January 2010. In October of 2010, soon after graduating as a Fire Protection Apprentice from Louis F. Garland Fire Academy, she was hired on full-time as a civilian firefighter for the Wyoming Air National Guard Fire Department. In 2016 TSgt Raile deployed for six months to Al Dhafra Air Base, 380th Expeditionary Wing, Civil Engineering Squadron as a Fire Protection Craftsman. While deployed she provided structural fire protection, aircraft fire protection and emergency medical services to thousands of Airmen, Soldiers and Coalition Forces. TSgt Raile is currently a senior leader in the Wyoming Air National Guard Fire and Emergency Services technical rescue team.
