Position: Communications Specialist (Contract)

Location: Cheyenne, WY

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $25–$30/hour

A reputable Cheyenne-based organization is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Specialist for a contract role. This position plays a key role in shaping the organization’s public messaging and brand presence through clear, compelling, and accurate communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit all public-facing communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism

• Draft a variety of written materials including correspondence, announcements, and internal messaging

• Support brand awareness initiatives through strategic content and messaging

• Apply critical thinking to assess how communications will be perceived by diverse audiences

• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain alignment with organizational voice and goals

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or a related field

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

• Strong understanding of brand strategy and audience engagement

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
