About Us

Our Mission is to develop, deliver and maintain Cheyenne's water, wastewater and water reclamation resources, infrastructure and services ensuring the federal, state and local requirements are met in order to provide the utmost benefit for the community's investment. Sustain Cheyenne's essential water resources to realize our community's potential.

Over seventy-five years ago, on April 27, 1943, the City of Cheyenne established the Board of Public Utilities (Board) to manage and control the city’s water and sewer systems.

Looking ahead, Cheyenne moves into the 21st century with an excellent water supply, adequate treatment capacities and the ability to expand both treatment and delivery of water resources. This was accomplished due to the vision of current and past City leaders, Board Members and Board staff. With current growth rates, per-capita water use, conservation efforts and recycled water capabilities, the Board expects Cheyenne’s water resources to meet supply demand into the 2040’s.

Our Vision is that we will set the standard of excellence in the water and wastewater industry. We will be a leader in service to our customers. We will be responsible stewards in managing and protecting our water resources, the environment, the health and safety of our employees and community.
