UPLIFT is Wyoming's Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health, a Family to Family Health Information Center through a partnership with WIND at the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Statewide Family Network, and Wyoming Family Voices. We have served the state of Wyoming for more than 20 years. We have offices in Cheyenne and Casper and offer Distance Advocacy services across the state.
"As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an "UPLIFT" for the bird following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% more flying range than if bird flew alone." We team with families to support them at home, at school, and in their communities.
The entire family feels the impact of a child with a disability or special need. Parents are often reluctant to talk openly abut their child's problems with relatives, professionals, or friends and often do not know where to go for help. The majority of staff members at UPLIFT are individuals and family members of children with special needs and disabilities. We care and we understand. We offer advocacy, support, prevention, information, referral, and educational support services free of charge to Wyoming families.
Staff members with lived experience help families engage and make informed decisions to best support their family's needs. High-Fidelity Wraparound Services are offered to families of children who are involved (or at risk of involvement) in a specialized plan in connection to their child's behavioral needs.
